It is safe to say that Neil Lennon’s time as Celtic manager did not come to the end that he might have been hoping for. With 10IAR up for grabs, he had the chance to go down in the history books. But unfortunately, the Hoops’ season went completely off the tracks and by the time that he stepped away from his role in February, it was already too late to salvage anything out of the campaign.

Thus, despite winning a lot of silverware during his run as Celtic manager, Lennon will most probably always be remembered mostly for the disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

Since then, he has made no secret of his desire to make a return to management but has not found a club till now. That wait could be set to come to an end in the near future though.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Lennon is close to finalising a deal with Cypriot First Division side AC Omonia Nicosia.

It is safe to say that not many fans would have expected Lennon to end up in Cyprus despite the manner in which his run at Celtic came to an end.

But this might actually be a good opportunity for the manager to reset things and get his managerial career back on track.

While he might have departed Celtic under terrible circumstances, there is no questioning that he has the experience of leading teams to trophies and can be a solid manager for many clubs around Scotland and beyond. He has already proven that in the past. Now, let’s see what the future holds for the former Hoops manager, but as of now, it looks like he is headed for Cyprus.

And after how much he achieved at Celtic as a player and a manager, we can only wish him the best.
