It is safe to say that a lot of Celtic fans might have been nervous when they saw the line up that was to take to the field against Livingston today.

It was not their strongest to say the least and on top of that, Livingston are a team who had been in tremendous form coming into the game, not losing any of their past five games in the league. Add to that the terrible record that the Hoops have at the Tony Macaroni Arena, and it started to feel like a game where they could end up dropping points.

Impressively, the tweaks ended up working out for Celtic though and they walked out of Livingston with a comfortable 3-1 win. Even the most optimistic fan would not have seen it going this way.

Now though, the focus must turn towards the upcoming games. But at the same time, Postecoglou deserves a lot of credit for this display.

Celtic finally get the better of the ghost of the Tony Macaroni Arena

Celtic’s record at the Tony Macaroni Arena is not unknown to any Scottish football fan. This is a stadium that they have historically struggled in.

Even Postecoglou failed his first test there, earlier this season, when they lost 1-0 at the hands of Livingston there, in what was an uninspiring performance from the Hoops.

This time around though, it looked like a very different team, that was up for it. And after several attempts, Celtic have been successful in getting a win away at Livingston. It is safe to say that this is a massive boost to their Premiership title hopes and a blow to the Rangers, who might have been hoping for Postecoglou’s side to drop points here.

With 8 more league games left, Celtic remain in the driver’s seat in this title race.
