Celtic’s title hopes received a massive boost, after they got a 3-1 win away at Livingston. This is a ground that the Hoops have struggled at for a long time and even lost 1-0 at, earlier on in the campaign. Thus, it is safe to say that this was a huge result for Ange Postecoglou’s side. With 8 games remaining it the Premiership, they have held on to their 3 point lead over the Rangers.

Of course, there is still a long way to go. But Celtic must be delighted with their result away to Livingston. This was a game that many people had expected them to drop points in.

Thus, it is safe to say that Postecoglou and his side deserve a lot of credit. And while the focus must now shift towards their upcoming matches, this result should definitely give them a much needed confidence boost for sure.

David Martindale believes that the next game between Celtic and the Rangers could have huge implications on the title race. As reported by The Scotsman, the Livingston manager said:

"“But I do now think [with the way everything is shaping up at the top] the next Old Firm game is going to be a defining moment for the league this season. But we have a highly competitive league…yes we have.”"

Martindale makes bold title prediction after losing to Celtic

It does feel like things could go right down to the wire, with neither team in great form at the moment.

The Rangers had their own worries in their recent game against Aberdeen and had to rely on a late winner to get all three points from the match. On another day, it could have resulted in more dropped points for them.

Ultimately, it is very possible that the destination of the league title could end up being decided by the results of the remaining Glasgow Derbies this season.

As things stand, both Celtic and the Rangers have won one each this season, both at their own home grounds. It will be interesting to see if either of them is able to get a result away from home.
