Celtic have a brilliant core of youth and experience right now. They have someone like Joe Hart between the posts, who has seen it all through the course of his career. And they also have someone like Liel Abada, who is just 20 years of age but is already making his mark at the senior level and can be an important player for the Hoops for years to come. Also, in Ange Postecoglou, they have a manager who has only been at Parkhead since the summer.

Thus, it is safe to say that things are looking up for Celtic. And no matter how this season turns out, it must be considered a success for the club.

Amidst all this, there appears to be a lot of excitement about some of the players who are coming through the youth ranks at Celtic. One of them is Bosun Lawal.

Lawal arrived in the summer from Watford, despite there being interest from Chelsea as well, and he has already made an impression. In fact, Tom Boyd has found similarities between himself and the youngster. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he told Celtic TV:

"“I could do that; be comfortable on the ball, break forward, use your pace and speed.“He’s certainly got a lot of those attributes. Sometimes that can be the thing that unlocks the door with [Celtic]. Certainly the first team, the way we press, and the way we get forward and play in advanced areas. It’s often the centre-backs that are playmakers.“He looks as though he’s very accomplished, very comfortable. [He can] just cause confusion in organised defences that we go up against. He’s certainly one that’s stood up and looking very comfortable in possession, a physical presence as well.”"

If Lawal ends up having half the career at Celtic that Boyd did then the Hoops have a serious player on their hands.

Of course, youth football is never the best time to judge how good a player is or how far they can go. It is a very different thing to make the jump to the senior level and perform there. Not everyone can do that.

At this point of time, it looks like Lawal has all the attributes to be a success at the senior level at Celtic. Now, it will be about whether he can make that jump to the senior team and perform. Let’s see what the future holds.
