Celtic already have some impressive options up top. Kyogo Furuhashi has proven to be a superstar since his move to Glasgow from Vissel Kobe in the summer. And last season’s Eredivisie top scorer, Giorgos Giakoumakis, is starting to prove that he is a great option for the club to have as well. Daizen Maeda has not made a terrific start but is expected to improve as he settles into his new surroundings.

Albian Ajeti’s time at the club might be coming to an end soon though. He has struggled to impress since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager and has had his fair share of injury troubles as well.

Thus, it might not be a huge surprise if Celtic try to shake up their options up top in the upcoming summer transfer window.

As reported by the Mirror, Celtic and West Ham United are facing a transfer tug of war over Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo. He is rated at a transfer fee around £15 million.

Celtic and West Ham United could face summer transfer battle over Semenyo

Semenyo has been immensely impressive in the Championship in recent times and even won the Player of the Month for January.

He had played out wide earlier on in the campaign but has looked like a player transformed when he has been brought in more centrally. And these recent performances have caught eyes of a number of clubs. Celtic appear to be one of them.

But even if that was the case, it is hard to imagine Celtic shelling out a transfer fee around £15 million to sign Semenyo. That would comfortably shatter the club’s current record, which is the £9 million that they shelled out to sign Odsonne Edouard.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Semenyo has scored 6 goals and provided 8 assists in 21 Championship appearances this season till now.
