Some questions have been asked about Ange Postecoglou by the fans after some of Celtic’s recent results and performances. But it is easy to forget though, how well the manager has actually done ever since coming in in the summer. There were not a lot of expectations from this season at that point of time, as the Hoops were coming off of a trophyless campaign, when they had finished 25 points behind the Rangers.

Postecoglou has guided Celtic to a Scottish League Cup triumph already and has them sitting at the top of the league table, three points ahead of the Rangers.

That is incredible to be very honest and no matter how this season ends, Postecoglou deserves immense credit for the job that he has done till now and the future looks bright for Celtic.

Jamie Carragher is someone who appears to be a fan of the manager and his performance since taking the Parkhead job. As reported by HITC, the Liverpool legend said while talking to Optus Sport:

"“Obviously there’s always going to be a bit of scepticism – who is this guy, we don’t know too much about him. But no, he’s done brilliantly culminating in the last Old Firm where it wasn’t just the result, it was the performance as well, absolutely demolished Rangers in that game. It was one of those games where it doesn’t always happen, where it felt like the whole of England was watching and I think it just reminds everyone how big Scottish football is, certainly with the two Glasgow giants.”"

Carragher praises Postecoglou for the job that he has done at Celtic till now

It is safe to say that Postecoglou should be delighted with how well things have gone for him at Celtic. In fact, it has arguably gone smoother than anybody could have expected when he first arrived in the summer, from Yokohama F. Marinos.

Back then, there was not a lot of excitement around the move and understandably so. While Postecoglou had enjoyed tremendous success in both Japan and Australia, he was mostly an unknown in European football. On top of that, Celtic had been linked with Eddie Howe for months prior to his appointment and thus, many fans were left disappointed.

It did not take long for Postecoglou to become a fan favourite at Celtic though. And if he can guide this team to the Premiership title this season, after finishing 25 points behind last time around, he will go down in the club’s folklore.
