Celtic had suffered a massive slip up, when they could only manage a goalless draw against Hibernian away at Easter Road. It was not a result that they would have wanted going into the game, considering how tight things are in the Premiership title race right now. But fortunately for the Hoops, the Rangers ended up dropping points as well and in spectacular fashion.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side had taken an early 2-0 lead against Motherwell at Ibrox as it looked like they were set to cruise their way to three points. That was not to be though as the visitors scored twice in the second half to equalise.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw and meant that Celtic maintained their 3-point lead at the top of the Premiership table. It was a huge opportunity missed on the part of the Rangers.

And Barry Ferguson was brutally honest about what the Rangers needed going forward with just 10 league games left to be played. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he told The Go Radio Football Show:

"“There are ten games left, you’ve got to get 30 points. No doubt about it. Look at the games mentioned. Aberdeen, Ross County, Dundee United, take Celtic into the equation – 3-0 they got beat – and then you look at it again on Sunday.“It’s disappointing and frustrating.”"

It is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou’s side are in the driver’s seat at the moment. While they might have dropped a couple of points against Hibernian, it was their first ones after a long time.

The same cannot be said about the Rangers, who have stumbled a lot in recent games, despite their incredible win in Europe over Borussia Dortmund. Their league form has shown no signs of improvement.

Of course, Celtic must be worried about their own performances in recent times as the Hoops have had to scrap some results in recent games. That cannot continue if they are to win the league themselves. There are still some very important games left to be played, including a couple of Glasgow Derbies.
