Ange, Maeda, bad form: 3 things we learned from Celtic vs Hibernian

Celtic had come into the game against Hibernian knowing that they needed all three points. Firstly, because they needed to bounce back from the UEFA Europa Conference League exit at the hands of Bodo/Glimt. And secondly, because every league game is important at this point of time, with the gap between the top two very small.

The performance on the day from Celtic did not show any kind of intent though. They looked completely off the pace and it did not even look like they were close to getting on the scoresheet against Hibernian.

The draw is a huge blow for Celtic to say the least. It just leaves them with a lot more work to do and potentially no more 3-point cushion to sit back on.

Also, it raises questions about where the side goes from here. They have not looked up for it for a few weeks now and even though they have found a way on most occasions this season, this was not one of them, and it has cost them. How much, we will know come the end of the season.

Where were the substitutes, Ange?

Postecoglou has done a tremendous job since arriving at Celtic and has already delivered more than one could have expected from his first season in charge.

But in football, you are only as good as your last result. And this was not one that Celtic fans will remember fondly unfortunately.

The performance on the day was reminiscent of last season, when the team looked completely out of ideas and were almost sleepwalking through games. For some reason, Postecoglou decided to make just one substitution though.

Where not there some options available on the bench who could come on and potentially make a difference?

Someone like Anthony Ralston, who has already come up with some big moments this season. Or maybe Nir Bitton, with Reo Hatate looking completely off the pace on the day?
