Cameron Carter-Vickers has proven to be a brilliant signing for Celtic. Brought in on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, he has established himself as a regular starter from the very beginning and held on to his place in the heart of defence throughout. In fact, the United States international might very well be the most consistent defender at the club right now.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that Celtic are believed to be interested in signing Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis from Tottenham Hotspur, and they also have an option to buy included in the loan deal.

But, his glowing performances in a Celtic shirt appear to have caught the eyes of several clubs down South, which is not great news for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Celtic will face competition from five Premier League clubs for Carter-Vickers. Leicester City, West Ham United, Wolves, Burnley and Watford are believed to be the teams monitoring his progress.

Thus, it is not hard to see why he is viewed as an important part of this team. As a result, other Premier League sides being interested in the defender would be a worry for them.

Even if the club trigger the option to buy in his loan deal, it would ultimately come down to the player and what he wants to do. Would he want to remain at Parkhead if Premier League clubs come calling?
