Celtic have a huge game coming up in the UEFA Europa Conference League, when they will take on Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of their tie, away in Norway. At this point of time, the Norwegian champions do have a 3-1 advantage from the first leg at Parkhead and it is safe to say that the Hoops have a mountain climb, if they are to make something out of this game and tie.
Of course, Europe is very important to this Celtic side. But at the same time, one has to feel that the Premiership is much more important, especially with a Champions League spot up for grabs.
Celtic have done a tremendous job in recent times to reach the top of the Premiership table. But now, the focus has to shift towards keeping their spot. At this point of time, the Hoops hold a three point lead over the Rangers.
We have already seen how quickly leads can evaporate though. And the upcoming away trip to Hibernian is a game that Celtic will need to navigate through. The hosts do have a few problems of their own right now.
Hibernian suffer triple blow before facing Celtic
As reported by Hibernian’s official website, Paul Hanlon, Paul McGinn and Joe Newell are all doubts for the upcoming game against Celtic. On top of that, Demetri Mitchell, Harry Clarke and Kyle Magennis are out due to longer term injuries.
Thus, it will be interesting to see how Hibernian will line up against Celtic. Ange Postecoglou’s side do have their fair share of injury problems as well though.
Key players like Kyogo, David Turnbull and a few others have been missing for a while. But fortunately, the Hoops have been able to navigate through the problems and make the best of the situation.
Hibernian will without doubt be the fresher of the two teams though, with Shaun Maloney’s side not having to play a game in midweek.
