Coming out of the winter break, the Rangers had a six-point lead over Celtic in the Premiership. It is safe to say that they must have felt confident of their chances of retaining the title while it was Ange Postecoglou’s side who had everything to do in the second half of the season. Things can change very quickly in football though and we have seen the perfect example of that over the past month or so.

The Rangers have not been able to get it going. They followed a 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund with a 1-1 draw against Dundee United. And while it had looked like Celtic were going to drop points as well, a hattrick from Giorgos Giakoumakis powered them to a win over Dundee FC.

This, combined with a number of results since the return from the winter break, has left Celtic now sitting three points ahead of the Rangers in the Premiership table, with 11 league games left to be played in this campaign.

Aaron Ramsey and Amad, both on loan at Ibrox, were the Rangers’ two big signings of the January transfer window. But they have not been able to make much of an impact till now. And Kris Commons believes that time might be running out.

Former Celtic star makes big claim about Ramsey and Amad

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Commons wrote in his Daily Mail column:

"“Given the manner of the performance in Dortmund and the form of Ryan Jack, Joe Aribo and John Lundstram, I felt Aaron Ramsey might not get into Rangers’ strongest team.“Glen Kamara seems to have lost his way slightly which might have opened up a door for Ramsey, but he wasn’t in the squad at all yesterday due to injury.“Time is running out for him to make any sort of appreciable impact at Ibrox. He was signed to make the difference in the title race, to help Rangers unlock stuffy defences with his passing and vision.“Yesterday was exactly the kind of game where they’d have hoped he could help, but he wasn’t fit enough to play any part.“As for Amad Diallo, he already looks like he’s in the wrong movie. Just because Manchester United spent £37million on him, that’s no guarantee of success.”"

Ramsey has struggled to even get on the pitch for the Rangers since arriving on a loan till the end of the season from Juventus.

On the other hand, while Amad has played a bit of football, he has not made the kind of contribution that their fans must have been hoping for.

At the end of the day, this is all brilliant news for Celtic, with a Champions League spot up for grabs.
