Celtic must get better at defending set-pieces

Arguably Celtic’s biggest weakness at this point of time, the club are just struggling terribly when it comes to defending set-pieces. And considering how fine the margins are right now, it could end up haunting them at the end of the season if they don’t improve as soon as possible.

The game against Dundee FC is a prime example of this. The visitors were at the bottom of the Premiership table and most fans expected this to be a stroll in the park for the Hoops.

But instead, they had to fight for the entire game to get a result. And it was not like Dundee FC created a lot of chances either.

They just took the ones that they had, as Celtic struggled to deal with set-pieces once again. Thankfully for them, Giorgos Giakoumakis was there to save the day on this occasion with an incredible hattrick. But that won’t always be the case. And as a result, the Hoops need to improve when it comes to defending from set-piece situations.

Celtic have to be more clinical in front of goal

Another huge problem that Celtic have been dealing with recently is their inability to put games away.

Again, the game against Dundee FC was a great example of that. The Hoops had to depend on a late goal from hattrick hero Giakoumakis to hand them all three points. But if they had taken their chances in front of goal, the result would have been out of doubt a lot earlier to say the least.

This has not been the case for just this one game either. A number of times, Celtic have ended up creating a tremendous amount of chances but have not been able to put them into the back of the net as often as they should.
