Boli Bolingoli has reportedly agreed Celtic exit deal

It’s been a very difficult time at Celtic for Boli Bolingoli since he signed from Rapid Vienna back in the summer of 2019. Uninspiring performances, inconsistent defending interspersed with some glimpses of attacking ability going forward didn’t really lead to him nailing down a spot in the first-team. He was already struggling to establish himself as a regular before his controversial trip to Spain at the start of last season.

Having barely featured since his move to Celtic, it is safe to say that he has not been able to justify the £3 million transfer fee that the club are believed to have shelled out to sign him.

Moving the player on has not been easy either. A loan to Istanbul Basaksehir last season did not lead to a permanent deal and it’s only recently that rumours have emerged about talks with Russian Premier league side, FC Ufa.

It looks like those talks have made progress, after there had been suggestions that Bolingoli had gotten the green light from Celtic to seal a move away on loan.

Bolingoli looks set to complete Celtic exit

As reported by Football Insider, Bolingoli has agreed a deal to join FC Ufa this month and the club are confident of their chances of getting it done before the Russian transfer window slams shut.

It remains to be seen if FC Ufa are able to complete a deal in time or not as they seem to be in a race against time more than anything else.

In terms of Celtic, Bolingoli leaving would not make a huge difference to the team as he has barely featured for them this season, with Ange Postecoglou preferring the likes of Greg Taylor, Liam Scales and even Josip Juranovic at left-back before the Belgian. Thus, it is safe to say that a move away from Parkhead makes sense.
