Once again, Celtic left it late. And once again, their performance raised a lot of questions. But what matters more than anything else is that they found a way to win, unlike the Rangers, who dropped a couple of points after a 1-1 draw. This means that the 3-2 win over Dundee, thanks to a brilliant hattrick from Giorgos Giakoumakis, takes the Hoops three points clear at the top of the table.

It is safe to say that it was an incredible result for Celtic despite putting in a disappointing performance. And while they definitely need to return to the drawing board when it comes to defending set-pieces, one has to view the positives coming out of the game as well.

Coming out of the winter break, the Rangers were sitting six points clear at the top. Now, they find themselves trailing Celtic by three points. And that is huge, with 11 games left to be played in the league this season.

Amidst all this, Celtic’s hattrick hero has made a huge title claim. As reported by the Daily Record, Giakoumakis said:

"“I think that we will win the championship, it’s something that we want very much for the club and the fans.“We have a very strong squad. Every single player can be in the first eleven and make the difference.”"

This was a performance and a half from Giakoumakis to say the least. The Greek striker did not have a great start to life at Celtic, struggling for both form and fitness after arriving in the summer.

It is only after the winter break that he has gotten a consistent run of games and it is safe to say that he is making it count. Not only has he impressed with his overall gameplay, but he is now scoring important goals as well, looking like a proper fox in the box striker, something that the Hoops have been missing for a while.

He was left out of the starting XI in the previous match against Bodo/Glimt. But after that performance, one has to feel he will be starting in the second leg.
