Who will start up front – Giorgos Giakoumakis or Daizen Maeda?

Another area that caused some discussion amongst the fans surrounding the midweek game was regarding the striker.

Ange Postecoglou decided to leave Giakoumakis, who has impressed in recent times, on the bench and gave Maeda the nod from the beginning.

Now, Maeda has enjoyed a decent start to life at Celtic but on this occasion, he did not look ready to lead the line for the Hoops against tough European opposition. Thus, this might have come a bit too early in his run at Parkhead.

On the other hand, Giakoumakis might have been a much better option to go with on that occasion and one would expect the Greek striker to be leading the line against Bodo/Glimt in the second leg away in Norway soon.

But the immediate question right now is, who will start as the striker in the game against Dundee?

Who will start at left-back – Greg Taylor or Liam Scales?

There have been questions surrounding Taylor’s position as the starting left-back at Celtic for a while now. And his performance against Bodo/Glimt only ended up adding to those.

Taylor did not have a good game at all as he appeared to struggle in both aspects – going forward as well as defensively.

Thus, left-back might be one position that Celtic need to strengthen in in the upcoming summer transfer window. But for the time being, they will have to do with the options that they already have at the club.

At this point of time, it does feel like Scales is the second choice behind Taylor at left-back, even though Josip Juranovic has played quite a bit of football there this season too.

Scales has not played a lot of football for Celtic since his arrival from Shamrock Rovers. But when he has been on the pitch, he has brought something to the team. Thus, do not be surprised to see him in the starting XI against Dundee.
