Scott Brown called time on his legendary Celtic career by departing the club last summer in order to join Aberdeen in a player-coach role. His arms must have been tired with lifting trophies over the course of his time at Parkhead and it appeared that he was slowly looking to transition into coaching. It is safe to say that things have not gone his way since then.

Aberdeen are not going through a good season right now and recently parted ways with Stephen Glass, who had brought Brown to the Pittodrie Stadium, as manager.

Since then, they have appointed Jim Goodwin as their manager, leaving a vacancy at St Mirren, which is where things get interesting involving Brown.

As reported by the Daily Record, St Mirren want to hold talks with Brown. They have asked Aberdeen to speak to the former Celtic captain about the managerial vacancy at the club and it is believed that The Dons will let him speak to the Premiership club.

Could the Celtic legend be set to become the St Mirren manager?

It is safe to say that Brown would not have expected to become a manager anytime soon when he accepted the player-coach role with Aberdeen just last summer. But that’s how quickly things can change in football.

And to be honest, this might be a good opportunity for the former Celtic captain. St Mirren are going through a solid season and at the moment, sit in front of both Hibernian and Aberdeen in the Premiership table, at sixth.

Of course, there are expected to be many other candidates on St Mirren’s shortlist but it does look like Brown is in the running for the job.

Could we see the Celtic legend in the managerial hot seat at St Mirren soon? Let’s see what the future holds.
