Celtic find themselves in a brilliant position right now. The club have already won the Scottish League Cup this season, are in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup, set to take on Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League and most importantly, sitting at the top of the Premiership table, with a one point lead over the Rangers. No matter how things go from here, it is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou has done a brilliant job since arriving as manager.
The appointment was not a popular one when it had been made but has turned out to be a masterstroke over time.
Back in the summer, several managers had been linked with the Celtic job. One of them was Paul Lambert, who had already enjoyed a brilliant playing career at Parkhead. Now though, it looks like he could be in the running to become the manager of another big Scottish club.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Lambert is interested in becoming Aberdeen’s new manager and would be open to talks if an approach was made. On the other hand, Neil Lennon is believed to be a potential candidate as well for the vacant spot. Stephen Glass was shown the exit door recently.
Former Celtic stars in race to become next Aberdeen manager
Lambert has plenty of experience in management, and has had jobs at clubs like Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, Wolves, Norwich City and others over the years.
On the other hand, Lennon enjoyed tremendous success in the managerial hot seat at Celtic although things did not end as he would have envisioned. He has also managed Hibernian in the past.
Thus, it remains to be seen who ends up becoming the next Aberdeen manager. At the moment, Jack Ross is believed to be the favourite to get the role.
