Celtic have undergone a squad transformation this season under the management of Ange Postecoglou. They signed twelve players in the summer transfer window and then added five more to their ranks last month. And it is pretty clear the club have improved drastically from last season, as they sit at the top of the Premiership table and have already won the Scottish League Cup.

A lot of their success is due to the fact that a number of their new signings have hit the ground running at Parkhead. Names like Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, Liel Abada, Matt O’Riley and others come to mind immediately.

And one would expect them to get even better with experience as this is quite a young team. Let’s see how things turn out but the signs are very promising and exciting.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, O’Riley was recently asked by TheHomeBhoys at a fan media event about who the most technically gifted player at Celtic was and he replied:

"“That’s a tough question. We have a lot of technicians because of the way we play. If I’m going off pure smoothness and technical ability then I’d probably say Jota to be fair. I just think he’s really elegant with the way he plays. You see the stuff he does on the pitch and he usually excites the fans just whenever he gets the ball really.“So I think for that reason I’d probably say him.”"

O’Riley picks Jota as the most technically gifted player at Celtic

It is hard to argue with O’Riley’s choice. Jota has been nothing short of sensational ever since joining the club from Benfica on a season-long loan in the summer.

The Portuguese winger had struggled at Benfica, and then on loan at Real Valladolid, in the past but has looked like a completely different player at Celtic. In fact, he might very well be the club’s best player right now and always seems to make something happen when he is on the pitch.

Now, it remains to be seen whether Celtic are able to sign Jota on a permanent basis from Benfica. The club are believed to have an option to buy included in the loan deal but ultimately, it might come down to the player and where he wants to play moving forward.
