Christopher Jullien made his first appearance for Celtic in over a year when he came on as a substitute against Raith Rovers in their recent Scottish Cup tie. The French defender had suffered a long-term injury late in 2020 and had not played a single time in 2021. Thus, it was great to finally see him back on the pitch and hopefully, he will soon find his rhythm and be back to his best.
On top of his game, Jullien is a great player, who has already come up with some big moments in a Celtic shirt. And hopefully, there are many more to come in the future.
It must have surely been an emotional moment for him to step on to the pitch for the first time after such a long absence due to a serious injury and he got a warm welcome from the Celtic fans.
And he thanked the club’s support on social media recently as Jullien tweeted out:
Woah this was one if the best feelings... Thank you all for that moment and all the good vibes during all that time 💚🍀 https://t.co/AQPzXaXFY4

Jullien sends beautiful message to Celtic fans after making return to the pitch
It is safe to say that it is still a long way to go for Jullien before he will be anywhere near back to his best. He had been out of action for over a year and will definitely take some time to find his rhythm.
The most important thing about this though is the fact that the Frenchman is fit and healthy once again, and hopefully it will stay that way moving forward.
He has a mountain to climb if he is to break into the Celtic starting XI though with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt putting in some tremendous performances this season while Stephen Welsh has done a great job as the back up centre-back. On top of his game, Jullien is a brilliant defender himself though. So never say never.
