Celtic have a huge game coming up in midweek as they will face Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League tie, at Parkhead. And with the second leg, away in Norway, expected to be a tough test for Ange Postecoglou’s side, it is safe to say that they will have to make the most of this occasion and will hopefully have an advantage going into next week’s game.

Bodo/Glimt are a good team and already hold a 6-1 win over AS Roma this season. That is enough to say that on their day, they are a handful for even top teams in Europe.

Of course, Celtic have been in tremendous form themselves. They sit at the top of the Premiership table, have already won the Scottish League Cup and hold a victory over Real Betis, who are currently sitting at third in La Liga, this season.

Thus, this is expected to be a tight contest between two very good sides, unless something unexpected happens over the next two legs.

With Kyogo out of action, it might be upto Giakoumakis to lead the line against Bodo/Glimt. Of course, one could make the case for Daizen Maeda as well but at this point of time, it does not feel like the Japanese star is settled in enough to be the focal point of attack in Europe against the Norwegian champions.

It will be interesting to see what kind of a line up Postecoglou decides to go with though and it is very possible that he might decide to leave Giakoumakis on the bench.

But even if that happens, it does feel like the Greek striker would have a key role to play over the two legs.
