Celtic handed massive Karamoko Dembele return boost

It had looked like Karamoko Dembele had started to take positive steps towards the Celtic first-team. He had featured quite a bit towards the end of last season and then was impressing in pre-season under the management of Ange Postecoglou as well, until he would pick up a serious injury against Bristol City in a friendly that has kept him out for months since then.

It goes without saying that it was a blow for the youngster. And considering James Forrest’s struggles this season, he could have potentially established himself as the back up option to Liel Abada in the Celtic first-team by now if not more.

There is some positive news surrounding Karamoko though. As reported by Celtic’s official website, he was back in action for the first time since his pre-season injury, and he looked lively down the right flank for the club’s B team against Vale of Leithen.

This is a huge positive step for Karamoko, who will surely be looking to get back into the first-team picture as soon as possible.

Considering how long Karamoko has been out of action for since picking up that injury in pre-season, it might take him a while to find his rhythm back. B team games are a great opportunity to do that though.

One can only hope that he is up to speed and back in the first-team picture soon. As Forrest continues to struggle with both form and fitness, there is an opportunity for Karamoko to get some decent playing time there.

Now, it remains to be seen if the youngster can take his chance. His current deal with the club is believed to be running out in the summer as well and as a result, his future at Parkhead is pretty much up in the air.
