Celtic have had some incredible players over the years. One of the more recent ones in that list is the name of Kieran Tierney. He broke through the ranks at the club and established himself as a first-team regular before completing a Scottish record transfer move to Arsenal in the summer of 2019. There he has been great as well, and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid recently.

On the other hand, one player that Celtic missed out on is John McGinn. They were heavily interested in the midfielder but could not get a deal over the line for him before Aston Villa swooped in to sign him. He has been absolutely sensational for the Birmingham club since then.

One thing common between Tierney and McGinn is the fact that they both grew up as Celtic fans and they have made no secret of that over the years.

In fact, when asked about their favourite player growing up, both Tierney and McGinn ended up naming Henrik Larsson. Football on BT Sport posted the video on Twitter:

It is safe to say that Larsson is the favourite player of a whole generation of Celtic fans. The King of Kings was absolutely brilliant to say the least and he was truly world-class during his time at Parkhead. He would spend his prime years at the Glasgow club and would represent clubs like Barcelona and Manchester United after leaving.

He has gone down in the history books as one of the best to ever represent Celtic and continues to be fondly remembered by the fans to this day.

One will be hoping that the current Celtic team has some heroes as well, who will go on to inspire the next generation of fans and footballers alike.
