Celtic have levelled up going forward this season. While Odsonne Edouard might have departed the club, the arrival of Kyogo Furuhashi has more than made up for it. On top of that, the club have also signed Giorgos Giakoumakis, who is finally starting to show what he can do, and Daizen Maeda, who topped the J1 League scoring charts in 2021, and has made a solid start to life at Parkhead since his January move.

On the other hand, Albian Ajeti has continued to struggle with injuries and form, and it does feel like he might be on his way out of Celtic in the near future.

The club are keeping their eyes open for emerging strikers at the same time and one player who appears to have caught their attention is Bristol City’s Antoine Semenyo.

Semenyo picked up the Championship Player of the Month for January. And as reported by BristolWorld, Celtic sent senior scout, Craig Strachan, to watch the Bristol City striker in action against Reading.

Semenyo has appeared to get better as the season has progressed. After initially playing from a wide position, he has thrived when featuring as a centre-forward and has been very impressive in recent games.

Thus, it is not hard to see why Celtic might look to keep an eye on the Bristol City striker. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 17 Championship appearances this season till now.

Still only 22 years of age though, one would expect him to get better moving forward as he gets more experience under his belt.

It must be said though that his numbers in the past are not very impressive and as a result, it will be interesting to see how he does over the coming weeks and months.
