The success so far of Celtic’s transformation under the management of Ange Postecoglou is earning him plaudits from all over the footballing world and rightfully so. He has guided the Hoops to a Scottish League Cup win already and also has them sitting at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, less than a year after they had finished 25 points behind the Rangers in the title race.

Postecoglou was a relative unknown to many when he arrived at Celtic in the summer, and he should be delighted with winning the fans over with his approach and results. And it looks like he has the backing of one of the club’s former managers in the form of Brendan Rodgers as well.

The two managers had met previously, when Rodgers’ Liverpool side were in Australia and played Melbourne Victory, then coached by Postecoglou.

Since then, the two appear to have stayed in touch. And as reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou said recently:

"“He was one of the first people to reach out when I got the job. He’s been really supportive and has sent me a couple of really nice messages.“It was good to catch up with him. I am sure he enjoyed being back at Celtic Park.“He says it’s still the best experience of his career in terms of the atmosphere and the environment.”"

Postecoglou has revealed what Rodgers told him about Celtic

Rodgers enjoyed a tremendous time as the manager of Celtic and it was under him that the club first became the Treble winning machine that would go on to dominate the Scottish game for the next four years.

But for all of his achievements, the manner of Rodgers’ Parkhead exit did leave a bitter taste in the mouths of a lot of fans. He would depart Celtic in the middle of the season to become the Leicester City manager.

The Hoops would slowly deteriorate in the post-Rodgers era but appear to have found their mojo once again since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager. And even more excitingly, they have done so well while dealing with a series of injuries and allowing new players the time to settle into the surroundings. Thus, hopes are that this Celtic side can get even better moving forward.
