Ange Postecoglou explains Celtic plans for next summer

It is safe to say that Celtic have enjoyed quite a bit of success in transfer windows ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou last summer. The club’s record had not been great in recent times when it comes to signings but that has been flipped around completely following the managerial change. They have managed to sign first-team stars like Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate and many others within a short space of a time.

The majority of these new arrivals have fit in quickly and already made an impact at Parkhead. And that is where Postecoglou deserves probably the most credit.

He has overseen a summer overhaul and then guided Celtic to a Scottish League Cup title within the space of months, and now has the club sitting at the top of the Premiership table as well.

Thus, many fans will be interested in what the club will do next summer but it looks like things could be much more relaxed then than they were this time around. As reported by The Herald (via 67 Hail Hail), Postecoglou said regarding the matter:

"“Mate, I’m hoping to be sitting beside a beach doing nothing this summer having worked it all out!“There are always challenges. Sometimes the more success you have, you may have more players leaving in the summer. You just don’t know. But I definitely know that it won’t be as significant or as big a rebuild as we had to go through in the past two windows. There’s no doubt about that.“One good reason for that and one positive is because we’ve got most of them right. It’s one thing bringing in a whole host of players. If you don’t get them right then you really have to revisit it and go again.“From my perspective, that’s been the pleasing thing. I think we are creating a really good foundation, not just for the next window, but for the next few windows. We will obviously always try to improve the squad but more importantly, we will try and replace quality players if they leave the football club for other shores. That’s the kind of business we’ll be doing in future windows.”"

Postecoglou explains Celtic’s future transfer plans

It is safe to say that the majority of the work appears to have been done for Celtic in terms of transfer incomings.

The club signed 12 players in the summer transfer window and then added a further 5 last month. And it is safe to say that this is a very different looking side from last season.

It is remarkable how far the Hoops have come in such a short span of time, especially with the number of injury problems that they have had to deal with as well and one would be expecting them to get even better moving forward. Let’s see what the future holds but things are looking up for the club right now. Hopefully more trophies await them.
