Jota has returned to first-team action following the winter break, after picking up an injury in December and till now, he had looked solid but not at his best.

That changed in the game against Aberdeen though as the Portuguese winger scored a vital brace to hand Celtic all three points and a 3-2 win at the Pittodrie Stadium.

This performance proved once again, why Jota is so important to this team. Now, it remains to be seen if the club can sign him on a permanent basis from Benfica in the near future.

That would arguably be the biggest move that Celtic can pull off next. There have been contrasting rumours about the situation till now though.

Some of them have suggested that Celtic are confident of their ability to get a deal over the line for Jota. On the other hand, there have been some which have suggested that the winger is headed back to Benfica. The only thing we can do is wait and see.

Matt O’Riley is a brilliant signing

What a signing O’Riley is looking like for Celtic. He has been absolutely brilliant ever since coming in from MK Dons this January.

And even more interestingly, it does not look like he was the club’s first-choice, as they had initially been linked with a move for Riley McGree before he ended up joining Middlesbrough.

There were some question marks about whether O’Riley would be able to adjust to the Scottish Premiership and Celtic, and those were natural considering the fact that he was playing League One football in England before this.

It is safe to say that he has taken to it like a duck to water and has hardly put a foot wrong till now in a Celtic jersey. Still just 21 years of age, it is exciting to think how good he can get.
