As has so often been the case in recent games, Celtic made a brilliant start to the game, this time against Aberdeen away at the Pittodrie Stadium, scoring a couple of early goals and putting themselves in the driver’s seat. Jota and Matt O’Riley found the back of the net for the Hoops on this occasion but the fans had been handed cause for worry before that.

Josip Juranovic was nowhere to be seen in the squad to face Aberdeen. This is the second straight game that he has not started after that incredible performance against the Rangers in the Glasgow Derby.

He came off the bench against Motherwell and was completely left out of the squad for this one. As a result, it is no surprise that a lot of Celtic fans were worried about the situation with no news behind the reason of his absence.

While a lot of rumours are doing the rounds on social media, nothing official has been put out yet regarding the situation of the Croatian international. Celtic fans tweeted out:

Celtic fans left worried despite brilliant start against Aberdeen

It is safe to say that Celtic have a brilliant back up option at right-back in the form of Anthony Ralston, who has done tremendously this season.

In fact, one could say that he is directly competing for the starting spot with Juranovic right now, instead of simply being a back up to the Croatian international full-back.

But despite that, Celtic will surely be hoping to have both of them available as often as possible. It remains to be seen what the situation surrounding Juranovic is, but one would surely expect an update after the game.

For now, the most important thing for Celtic is to get all three points against Aberdeen in order to stay at the top of the Premiership.
