A number of Celtic players are in sparkling form currently, as they have been able to reach the top of the Scottish Premiership table following a dominant 3-0 win over the Rangers in the recent Glasgow Derby. One downside of their great performances though is that they attract interest from clubs around Europe. And now Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City appear to have their eye on a player, who arrived at Parkhead last summer.

When Rodgers appeared in the Parkhead crowd for the victory over Dundee United in January, rumours had suggested that he may have been looking at Cameron Carter-Vickers, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur at the moment.

But now, it looks like the former Celtic manager might have had an eye on another of their stars in the form of Josip Juranovic.

Leicester City might potentially try to sign Juranovic next summer after his bright performances for Celtic but many clubs appear to be interested in the Croatian international. As reported by HITC, Fabrizio Romano said on The Here We Go Podcast:

"“Juranovic is a very interesting name to keep an eye on. Leicester, but not only Leicester. This is the right-back playing for Celtic. His price will be around €10, €12-€15 million.“But this boy is doing great with Celtic. He’s performing at the top level. I have a feeling that in the summer, he will have a chance to move. I’m told many clubs are exploring this opportunity.”"

Rodgers’ Leicester City could try to make move for Celtic star

Juranovic wasn’t in the starting line up for the Dundee United match, but Rodgers will have seen him come on at half time and put in a positive display.

Juranovic has been recognised as one of the stars of the win over the Rangers too, putting in one of the best performances that you are ever going to see from a right-back in a Glasgow Derby.

The Premier League is always an attractive proposition for a player. It is also one of the reasons players come to Celtic, as a chance to step up into the English top flight eventually.

Could Juranovic be headed towards Leicester City in the future? Only time shall tell. But one would expect Celtic to look for a bigger transfer fee than what Everton shelled out for Nathan Patterson.
