The Croatian international arrived in the summer but has had an up and down time at Celtic since then. Of course, one has to remember that for a large part of the season, he had to play in an unfamiliar position at left-back, as a result of Greg Taylor being injured and the Hoops not having a lot of depth in that position.

Juranovic has returned to the right side of defence recently though and swiftly moved ahead of Anthony Ralston, who has been very impressive this season, in the pecking order.

The game against the Rangers proved to be Juranovic’s breakout performance in a Celtic shirt. The Croatian was nothing short of spectacular and it was as good a performance as you are likely to see from a right-back all season.

Many Celtic fans might have been unsure whether it was the right decision to drop Ralston for Juranovic coming into the Glasgow Derby but there appear to be very few doubts now.

Matt O’Riley

Another January signing for Celtic, O’Riley appeared to be the Hoops’ Plan B after a move for Riley McGree failed to transpire. What a player he is looking like though!

O’Riley was at League One side, MK Dons, before this and many fans had questioned whether he would be able to make the jump to Celtic. He has taken to the Scottish game like a duck to water though and all of his performances for the Hoops till now have been superb.

O’Riley has looked brilliant in the middle of the park for Celtic since arriving and it is hard to believe that he has only been at the club only a couple of weeks.

With the way Hatate and O’Riley are performing at the moment, Tom Rogic and David Turnbull might have a tough time getting back into the Hoops’ starting XI.
