Angeball is undeniable

When Celtic appointed Ange Postecoglou as the club’s manager in the summer, after an attempt to bring in Eddie Howe failed to transpire, it is safe to say that a lot of fans were left disappointed.

At the end of the day, while Postecoglou had achieved a lot of success in Australia and Japan, he was an unknown in the European club game and many questioned whether he could get it done in the Scottish game.

Half-a-season on and Angeball is absolutely undeniable. And it does genuinely feel like not many could have done the job that he has done since arriving at Celtic.

The club had finished 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership last season and not won a single trophy. On top of that, the club had to undergo a squad overhaul.

Considering all this, most people would have understood the Hoops finishing second this season and winning a trophy would have been considered as a bonus.

They have already lifted a trophy in the form of the Scottish League Cup this season though and find themselves sitting at the top of the Premiership following their 3-0 win over the Rangers.

Title race is well and truly on

While Celtic might have reached the top of the Scottish Premiership once again, after a long, long time, it is safe to say that there is still a long way to go in the title race.

We are still in the beginning of February and the Hoops will have to continue performing like this moving forward. There are still a couple of Glasgow Derbies to be played as well.

On top of that, it will be interesting to see what effect the introduction of Aaron Ramsey has on this Rangers side.

For now though, things are looking up for Celtic.
