Not many people would have expected to see Aaron Ramsey ever move to the Rangers but that is exactly what has happened and it is safe to say that it has put a bit of pressure on Celtic to make something happen themselves. The Hoops have already completed five signings in the January transfer window but when it comes to big name acquisitions, the side from Ibrox have without doubt pulled off a massive one here.
How it works out on the pitch will be very interesting to see. While brilliant at times during his spell at Arsenal, it is easy to forget that Ramsey is 31 years of age and his run at Juventus has left a lot to be desired.
Question marks remain over his fitness and according to stats from Transfermarkt, he has played only 112 minutes of football this season. Also, he has never played more than 1093 minutes of league football in a season for Juventus. Of course, if it works, this could be a great move for the Rangers but at the same time, there have to doubts.
On the other hand, it looks like the Hoops might have plans to pull off something late themselves. As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are thinking of signing a left-back before the transfer window slams shut.
Celtic might try to sign a left-back
Celtic were believed to be done with making signings this month but it looks like their priorities might have changed a bit.
Could the Rangers signing players like Amad and Aaron Ramsey on loan have caused that? It remains to be seen.
Left-back has certainly been an area of worry for them for a while now and signing one before the January transfer window closes would be seen as a major boost. It remains to be seen though if Celtic are able to pull such a late move off.
