While the early part of Celtic’s January transfer window was marked by incomings; with Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi, Johnny Kenny and Matt O’Riley all arriving this month; the latter part has mostly been dominated by exits. It certainly does make sense on the part of Ange Postecoglou’s side as they certainly had quite a few players who could do with some playing time.
As a result, we have seen Liam Shaw join Motherwell and Conor Hazard join HJK Helsinki, both on a temporary basis. Ewan Henderson has joined Hibernian on loan as well, but in his case, the move is set to be made permanent in the summer.
And now, another promising youngster has moved out of Parkhead on loan, in the form of Osaze Urhoghide, joining Belgian side, KV Oostende.
Celtic confirmed the news as they tweeted out:
Osaze Urhoghide has joined @kvoostende on loan for the rest of the season.

The Celtic youngster has joined KV Oostende on loan
Celtic fans will be very aware of KV Oostende, with Jack Hendry spending the previous season on loan there. And they certainly helped with his development as he is playing Champions League football this season with Club Brugge, and even impressed against a Paris Saint-Germain side that had the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
It remains to be seen how things turn out for Urhoghide, but it is safe to say that he needed to get more playing time.
Urhoghide arrived at Celtic in the summer and was the first signing of the Postecoglou era. He has found playing time very hard to come by though.
In fact, he had to wait until December to make his debut for Celtic, in the final Europa League group stage game of the season, and he did impress on that day. Till now, that remains his one and only appearance for the Celtic senior team.
