Ange Postecoglou might have arrived at Celtic this summer but it does not feel like that. It feels like he has been at Parkhead for years now and has already created a special bond with the supporters. It also has not taken the manager long to leave his on mark on the team and after finishing 25 points behind the Rangers last season, nobody would have expected them to make up such a big gap in such a short span of time.

But that is exactly what has happened. Celtic have already tasted silverware this season, lifting the Scottish League Cup in December, after a 2-1 win over Hibernian.

And at this point, they sit just two points behind the Rangers in the Premiership. Thus, if they win the upcoming Glasgow Derby, set to be played at Parkhead on Wednesday, they will move ahead of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in the table and reach the top after a long, long time.

Postecoglou has made a Van Bronckhorst admission ahead of the big game though and as reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic manager said:

"“I’ve bumped into Gio a couple of times and he’s a nice guy. He’s passionate and wants success for his club. He knows I’m the same.“But that doesn’t mean we somehow change who we are.“On a game day we both want our teams to win.“But if I bump into him afterwards, like every other manager, I’ll treat him with respect because that’s more important than anything else. We’re in privileged positions.“We must set an example as people will look at our behaviour.”"

It is a classy message from Postecoglou as one has come to expect from the manager during his time at Parkhead.

When the two teams take on the pitch though, it is safe to say that Celtic will do everything that they can to get all three points.

The Rangers might be sitting at the top of the table but it is Celtic who look like the team in form. They scored a 90th minute winner to get a 1-0 win over Dundee United while the Rangers conceded in the 6th minute of stoppage time to drop a couple of points as they could only manage a 3-3 draw against Ross County.
