Ajeti was the big Celtic signing of the summer transfer window of 2020. But things have not worked out for the Swiss striker.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has managed to score just 9 goals in 48 appearances for Celtic till now.

Those are not great numbers, especially for someone that the club are believed to have shelled out a transfer fee in the region of £4.5 million to £5 million.

As a result, he has naturally been linked with a Parkhead exit but the fact that he is currently out injured has certainly made things more difficult in that regard.

There could potentially be a late opportunity for a January exit though. Arthur Cabral has departed FC Basel recently in order to join Fiorentina. And rumours have suggested that the Swiss club have their eyes on a reunion with Ajeti, who played the best football of his career there.

With time quickly running out though, it remains to be seen what will happen over the coming hours.

Vasilis Barkas

Barkas is another big signing of the 2020 summer transfer window for Celtic that did not work out for the club.

Celtic shelled out a transfer fee around £4.5 million to sign him from AEK Athens, after they had failed to bring back Fraser Forster for another spell at Parkhead.

After a decent start though, Barkas appeared to quickly lose his confidence and subsequently his place in Celtic’s starting XI.

There were hopes that he would establish himself in the Celtic first-team this season, but after a few early season mistakes, the club ended up signing Joe Hart from Tottenham Hotspur, and that has proven to be an inspired move on their part.

Barkas has been linked with a few clubs on loan this month and it remains to be seen whether something transpires before the January transfer window slams shut.
