The early part of Celtic’s January transfer window was dominated by incomings, with the club signing Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi, Johnny Kenny and Matt O’Riley. Now, the focus might turn towards outgoings. Liam Shaw and Conor Hazard have left on loan, joining Motherwell and HJK Helsinki respectively. Ewan Henderson has joined Hibernian on loan but the move is set to be made permanent in the summer and Lee O’Connor has joined Tranmere Rovers.

There could be more departures coming though with the likes of Osaze Urhoghide, Mikey Johnston and Adam Montgomery being linked with loan exits as well in order to get them some first-team football.

While Johnston and Montgomery have been linked with Scottish clubs till now, a temporary move away from Scotland might lie in the future for Urhoghide.

As reported by The Scotsman, Celtic are in talks with Serie A’s Hellas Verona and Belgian side KV Oostende for Urhoghide. The Hoops want to send the defender on loan but have long-term plans for him at Parkhead.

Urhoghide arrived with a lot of expectations at Celtic in the summer and was in fact the first signing of the Ange Postecoglou era for the club.

He has found playing time hard to come by though and had to wait until December to make his debut for the Celtic senior team. Considering that, he put in a tremendous performance against Real Betis in the final Europa League group stage game of the season.

Ultimately though, that has proven to be his only appearance for Celtic this season till now and as a result, it is safe to say that the 21-year-old would definitely be benefited by a loan spell away from Parkhead, at a club where he will play regular football.
