As we enter the final week of the January transfer window, Celtic have had an eventful one this time around for sure. They completed three early moves for Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate before getting a deal over the line for Johnny Kenny as well despite competition from Hibernian. And after a move for Riley McGree failed to materialise, they signed MK Dons standout Matt O’Riley, who could make his debut soon.
The focus has appeared to shift towards transfer exits though. Liam Shaw and Conor Hazard have moved out on loan, while Ewan Henderson has joined Hibernian on a temporary basis as well, although the move is set to be made permanent in the summer.
In terms of permanent transfers, Lee O’Connor has joined Tranmere Rovers after not making a single senior appearance for Celtic.
And while it might not be long before the transfer window slams shut, there are Celtic players who could still head out on loan.
3 Celtic players who could still leave on loan in January
Here are three Celtic players who could still leave on loan in the ongoing January transfer window, after struggling at Parkhead this season till now:
Osaze Urhoghide
Urhoghide was the first signing of the Ange Postecoglou era but things have not worked out well for him at Parkhead till now.
The defender had to wait until December to make his debut for Celtic and he put in an excellent performance against Real Betis in the Europa League.
Since then, he is yet to make another appearance for the Hoops and as a result, a loan move might make sense for Urhoghide in order to help with his development. He has been linked with several clubs in Scotland although a loan move to the Serie A or the Belgian league might lie in his future as well.
