Celtic’s upcoming game against the Rangers at Parkhead could very well turn out to be the most important of their season and end up having major implications on the Premiership title race. Their Glasgow rivals won 1-0 earlier at Ibrox, and Ange Postecoglou’s side must surely be looking to get their win back.

Of course, there are a couple more games still to be played before the Glasgow Derby, with Hearts expected to provide a tough test to Celtic and a home game against Dundee United as well.

But it is safe to say that both clubs cannot help but have an eye on the big game, set to be played on February 2 at Celtic Park, if everything goes to plan.

The Hoops do have a lot of problems going into the Glasgow Derby though, with their biggest being the unavailability of key players.

Kyogo

Kyogo reinjured himself in the Boxing Day game against St Johnstone and not a lot of positive news has come out of the Celtic camp since then about the Japanese star’s situation.

Worryingly, he was left out of the Japan national team’s squad and it does feel like the injury is much more serious than it was first thought to be. Thus, it would not be much of a surprise to see Kyogo missing from the squad against the Rangers.

Callum McGregor

McGregor picked up a facial injury against Alloa Athletic in a fourth round Scottish Cup tie and Postecoglou did not seem positive about the situation after the match and appeared to suggest that the captain could be out for a while.

Let’s see how things unfold over the coming days but the situation is not looking good at the moment.
