Ange Postecoglou provides brilliant Celtic injury update
Injuries have been a big problem for Celtic for a long time and it looks like that will continue to be the case for a while longer. Three of the club’s players, Callum McGregor, Yosuke Ideguchi and Liel Abada, were forced off the pitch against Alloa Athletic in their Scottish Cup tie. It goes without saying that the situation is not far from ideal and will leave Ange Postecoglou with a few headaches.
With Kyogo and David Turnbull appearing to be out with injury problems at the moment, the club would have been hoping to avoid any more of them against Alloa Athletic but unfortunately, it was not to be.
There is some positive news on the injury front as well though as it looks like Christopher Jullien is not far away from his return to the pitch and was even on the bench in the Scottish Cup tie although he was not brought on ultimately.
Postecoglou gave a positive update on the situation though. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, while speaking to Premier Sports before the game against Alloa Athletic, the Celtic manager said about Jullien:
"“He’s trained well. Since we’ve got back from the break he hasn’t missed a session. He’s been training well with the guys. He’s available. We just need to pick our time on when we re-introduce him – it might be today, or on Wednesday or the game after.“For him, it’s another step forward because he’s involved in a matchday and hopefully that’s the beginning.”"
Celtic manager has positive injury update on Jullien
Jullien has only recently returned to full training after a long-term injury kept him out for a long time. In fact, the French defender did not make a single appearance for the club in the year 2021.
Thus, it is safe to say Celtic would be eager to get him back into the fold of things as soon as possible so that Jullien can find his rhythm once again, having not played first-team football for over a year.
It will also be important to bring Jullien back into the fold slowly and gradually though considering how long he has been out of action for. But overall, this is a very positive update on his injury situation.
