With Celtic having already announced the move, it might be a good time to have a look at the English midfielder. O’Riley broke through the youth ranks at Fulham and even made a few appearances for their senior side, but eventually, he decided to leave the London club despite being offered a deal by the club.

He would then end up joining MK Dons in League One and it has proven to be the right step for his career, as is clear from the fact that he has already gotten a big move to Celtic.

While playing for MK Dons, it always looked like he might have been a bit too good for League One football and it is easy to forget that it has only been a couple of months since O’Riley has turned 21 years of age.

Thus, the youngster has plenty of time on his hands to develop and improve. But one has to question, is he ready to make an impact in the Celtic first-team from the get go?

Is O’Riley ready to make impact at Celtic already?

O’Riley appeared to be a step ahead when he was playing in League One. But is he ready to play regular first-team football for Celtic at this stage of his career? Only time shall tell.

He does not look like someone who Celtic have brought in to send out on a few loan deals before he is ready to feature in Postecoglou’s first-team though.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, O’Riley scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists in 30 appearances for MK Dons this season.

Also, it must be pointed out that he seems to have the perfect attributes to be a success in Postecoglou’s style of football. He has the eye for a goal, as well as the ability to make a final pass, can dribble and distribute, and has a solid defensive side to his game as well.
