Celtic: 3 big positives Ange Postecoglou was handed vs Hibernian
Jota’s injury return
Jota has been one of the standout players for Celtic this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in 19 appearances for the club in this campaign.
He is only on a season-long loan from Benfica at the moment though and Celtic will be hoping to sign him on a permanent basis. They are believed to have an option to buy included in Jota’s loan deal believed to be a transfer fee somewhere in the range of £6 million to £6.5 million.
It remains to be seen what happens regarding that matter but one must also point out that Celtic have had another problem surrounding Jota recently. And that was with his injury.
Jota picked up an injury early in December which kept him out for the entire month but he was back on the bench for Celtic upon their return from the winter break, coming on as a late substitute too.
This is a massive boost for the Hoops without a shadow of a doubt and one will be hoping that he is fit enough to be back in the starting XI soon as well.
Reo Hatate masterclass
What a debut performance for the new Celtic signing! Hatate was magnificent against Hibernian and left the fans buzzing about what is to come in the future.
The former Kawasaki Frontale man arrived with a lot of expectations surrounding him and many even claiming that he has more potential than Daizen Maeda. But even then, not many would have expected the Japanese midfielder to be that impressive in his first appearance in European football.
Now though, the tougher task for Hatate is to continue performing like this and hopefully get even better moving forward. If he can do that, the sky is the limit for the Japanese star.
It is safe to say that Celtic might have pulled off another transfer masterstroke here.
