Celtic did not have a lot of squad depth in the first half of the season and that has certainly improved to some length as a result of signing Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi, Reo Hatate and Johnny Kenny. But even then, there are a lot of players at Parkhead who have not played much football this season till now and would not be expected to do so moving forward either.

As a result, some of these players would be helped by a move away from the club on loan in order to get some regular playing time. Osaze Urhoghide is one such player.

Urhoghide was the first signing of the Ange Postecoglou era but has made only one appearance for Celtic till now. He had to wait until December to make his debut for the club and put in a brilliant performance against Real Betis in the Europa League. But considering the options at centre-back and right-back, he would not be expected to play a lot moving forward despite that.

Thus, it had looked like he was headed for a loan move to Dundee FC. But that has appeared to stall. As reported by the Daily Record, James McPake said:

"“We spoke to Celtic regarding Osaze. It’s got to the point where we have spoken to the player, spoken to the agent and it looked like it was going to happen.“It has stalled unfortunately, at the minute.”"

Dundee FC currently find themselves sitting at 11th in the Premiership and could do with as many options as they can get in order to try and avoid relegation.

One has to feel that if Urhoghide ended up joining the club, he could get a decent amount of football and in difficult circumstances, which would help in his development as a footballer further. At the moment though, the proposed loan move has appeared to stall.

It must be pointed out though that Dundee FC already have a Celtic player on loan at the club in the form of Leigh Griffiths but that is up in the air at the moment.
