Except for the Riley McGree saga, things have gone pretty smoothly for Celtic in the January transfer window. The club have brought in Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Johnny Kenny already, and if rumours are anything to go by, the Hoops could be looking to make more additions before the month is over. On the other hand, things appear to be looking up on the injury front as well.
Injuries and their lack of depth were Celticโs biggest problems in the first half of the season. And while the new signings should go a long way in taking care of their squad depth, the injured stars appear to be recovering during the winter break as well.
One of the clubโs most important players this season has been Jota. The Portuguese winger was injured in early December though and has been out of action ever since, even missing the Scottish League Cup final.
There have been hopes though that he would be back in action by the time the winter break comes to an end and Celtic have been handed a huge boost by his return to full training. The club tweeted out:

Celtic handed massive boost by Jotaโs return to training
Jota has been a very important part of this Celtic team and as a result, it is safe to say that seeing him back in training is a massive boost for the club and Ange Postecoglou.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Jota has scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in 18 appearances for Celtic. Brilliant numbers for any winger, especially one who is just playing his first season of regular senior football.
With Maeda arriving over the summer, it will be interesting to see if Postecoglou is able to fit the former Yokohama F. Marinos star with Kyogo and Jota into the same line up.
