Celtic must be happy with the first half of the season. They managed to end their short but tough trophyless run by winning the Scottish League Cup, thanks to a magnificent brace from Kyogo Furuhashi in the final. Ange Postecoglou’s side also sit 6 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership table, which although a significant gap, is one that can be overturned with almost half the league campaign left to be played.

For that to happen though, Celtic will need to improve in multiple areas. They have already added to their depth, which is a great sign and hopefully that will help reduce the number of injuries as well.

There are some first-team players as well though, who need to step up their games in the second half of the campaign.

While they might have impressed from time to time, overall, they need to produce more consistent displays.

Here are three Celtic players who need to improve after the winter break if the club are to make a run for the Premiership title:

Liel Abada

It might be a bit unfair to expect Abada to be a first-team star for Celtic already, at just 20 years of age.

But one cannot deny the fact that he has shown some tremendous potential already and was the club’s standout performer over the first several weeks of the season.

Since then though, his form has faded away quite a bit and if not for the lack of options at right wing, he might not have played as much football as he has for Postecoglou’s side recently.

Overall, his numbers are pretty impressive though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists in 32 appearances for Celtic.

Those are great numbers for a winger and there is no question about his talent. What he needs now though is to find some consistency.
