It is hard to give an assessment on Starfelt’s performances for Celtic till now. His start to life at Parkhead was not great and he appeared to struggle to adjust to the Scottish game early on.

But then, he appeared to come into his own and find his form. Not too long ago, he was looking like an assured figure at the back for Celtic.

He would pick up an injury though, which would keep him out for several weeks and he has not been able to find his best form since his return to the pitch. In fact, some of his recent performances have been a cause for worry.

Christopher Jullien appears to be closing in on a return to the pitch though, having spent over a year out of action due to a long-term injury and as a result, Starfelt might need to step his game up now if he is to remain in Postecoglou’s starting XI.

Hopefully, the winter break will do him good and he will look back to his best once again moving forward.

Greg Taylor

Left-back has been an area of worry for Celtic for a while now. In fact, nobody has been able to nail down the position ever since Kieran Tierney left for Arsenal in the summer of 2019.

The Hoops have been linked with quite a few players recently and signed a few in the January transfer window as well. There have not been a lot of rumours regarding the potential arrival of a new left-back though.

Thus, Taylor appears to be at the top of the left-back pecking order at Celtic at this point of time.

The Scottish international needs to step up his performances over the coming weeks and months though with the recent emergence of Liam Scales, who has come in from the cold and put in some very positive displays at left-back in recent games.
