Christopher Jullien was considered the best defender at Celtic before he picked up a long-term injury last season. Initially, it had been thought that he would be out of action for four months, which was a huge blow in itself. But since then, the defender has appeared to suffer several setbacks and it has been more than a year since he last played for the Hoops. In fact, he did not make a single appearance in 2021.
Celtic have been a man short in defence all season, with Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh the only three fit centre-backs that Ange Postecoglou has had in his squad.
Now though, there appears to be some very positive news surrounding the injury status of Jullien. He has returned to training and it looks like he could be back available some time after the winter break.
Jullien posted pictures from training recently along with a brilliant message, as it looks like he is ready to make 2022 a successful year for him. The Celtic defender tweeted out:
For sure 2022 will be a brighter year for me... So I'm wishing you all my people a bright and healthy year 22 🙏🏽💚

Celtic have been handed massive Jullien injury boost
It is safe to say that Celtic have felt Jullien’s absence as defence has been an area of worry for them for a long time.
The club must be commended though for the patience that they have shown with the French defender and one can only hope that when he returns, he is fully fit once again and it is only about playing his way back into rhythm.
If Jullien can rediscover his best form, it would be a huge boost for Celtic, who could certainly do with a defender of his quality right now.
It remains to be seen how he looks when he does return to the pitch though as it is not going to be easy for him after missing more than a year of action.
