Soro had broken into the first-team in the previous campaign and for the first few weeks, he was arguably the standout player for the club. He showed tremendous ability in those first several appearances as many questioned why it had taken so long for the midfielder to be handed his debut for Celtic.

It is safe to say that since then, his form has faded away quite a bit. So much so that he is struggling for playing time at the moment and seems quite far down the midfield pecking order at Parkhead right now.

But as we saw from those early appearances, he has a lot of ability and potential. At just 23 years of age, he also has a lot of time on his hands to develop his game further.

Thus, it might be a mistake on the part of Celtic to let him leave on a permanent basis as some rumours have suggested.

Mikey Johnston

Not too long ago, Johnston was considered as the next big thing at Celtic. He had made a brilliant start in the senior team and many predicted that he would go on to become a star for the club for years to come.

Things have not turned out as most fans would have hoped though. The last few seasons have been marked by one injury after the other for Johnston.

And it goes without saying that they have had a negative effect on the winger’s development. When he first broke into the first-team picture, one of his biggest qualities was that he could effect a game. He has not shown that effectiveness this season though.

But there is no question about his potential and he still shows glimpses of that from time to time. What he needs is a long run without picking up an injury and then, he could start to rediscover his best once again.
