Celtic player told that he can leave with contract expiring
Most of the attention at Celtic has recently been surrounding transfer incomings. The club have moved quicker that anybody would have expected and already brought in Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate. And it is safe to say that the three signings are expected to go a long way when it comes to helping with their squad depth, which has been the club’s Achilles’ heel this season.
But it does not mean that players will not leave Parkhead in the near future either. Transfer rumours have revolved around the futures of players like Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas, Boli Bolingoli and Ismaila Soro for some time now.
They have struggled to make an impact in Ange Postecoglou’s team and could be headed out the exit door soon. And it looks like another player could end up joining them.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Ewan Henderson has been told that he can leave with his contract up in the summer.
Henderson told that he can leave Celtic
Henderson has had a difficult time breaking into the first-team picture this season for sure. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made only one appearance and featured for 19 minutes in total.
Incredibly, that was against Real Betis, in a game that Celtic went on to win 3-2. And on top of that, Henderson ended up scoring with his very first touch after coming off the bench.
Rumours have recently linked Henderson with a move to Hibernian, whose new manager, Shaun Maloney, knows him well from his time in charge of the Celtic developmental squad.
Now, there is no question about Henderson’s talent or potential. But at this point of time, he just does not look ready to get regular minutes in the Celtic first-team. Thus, a move away would make sense for both the club and the player.
