Hatate is being brought in as the utility man. He has already shown that he can play in several roles and pretty well too. He played a big part in Kawasaki Frontale’s back-to-back league winning campaigns.

And while he might not be as ready for Europe as Maeda, it feels like he might have even more potential than the former Yokohama F. Marinos man.

It is not hard to see why Hatate could be very important to Celtic. They lack in options in several positions and he has the ability to fit into multiple roles quite comfortably despite being a natural midfielder.

It is believed that he is at his best when playing in the number 8 role although many have suggested that it might worth giving him a run at left-back as well, where he played for Kawasaki Frontale on several occasions in the 2021 season.

Yosuke Ideguchi

Out of the three Yosuke Ideguchi is the one who is the most interesting, simply because of the fact that one does not know what to expect from him.

A few years ago, he was considered as one of the most highly-rated players in Japanese football who was expected to become a regular for their national team.

In fact, he had broken into the Japan national team picture at a young age and put in some terrific performances as well. His goal against Australia is still talked about to this day.

A move to Leeds United ended up stalling his development though. He spent loan spells in the second division of Spain and Germany, without ever making a single appearance for the English side.

There is a reason though that he was signed in the first place, and one has to feel that Postecoglou has a plan for Ideguchi, because he ended up bringing him to Celtic despite the fact that his 2021 campaign was underwhelming.
