This has been a brilliant final day of the year for Celtic as they have already announced moves for Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate. It is safe to say that most fans would be delighted with the moves, especially after the success that Kyogo Furuhashi has enjoyed since arriving at Parkhead in the summer. But the triple signing might not be the end of arrivals at the club in January.

Some rumours have suggested that the Hoops could still be looking to make two more signings in January, on the wing and in defence.

It is not hard to see why though. On the wings, James Forrest, Jota and Karamoko Dembele are all out injured at the moment, while Mikey Johnston’s injury history is well known as well. On the other hand, in defence, they could just do with another option.

As a result, it should not come as a surprise that the club are being linked with a winger. As reported Foot Mercato, Celtic like Zinedine Ferhat. His current deal runs out next summer and thus, he could be on his way out of Nimes this winter. He is also wanted by Montpellier and Saint-Etienne.

Celtic linked with Algerian international winger

Ferhat currently plays for Ligue 2 side, Nimes, but even as recently as last season, he had shown his ability in Ligue 1. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the Algerian international scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances last season.

At 28 years of age, Ferhat is also in the prime of his career, even though he has found himself out of Nimes’ first-team plans this season.

Also, his current deal will run out in months, as a result, it is safe to say that Ferhat could be available for a bargain transfer fee this January. As a result, a move from Celtic makes sense.
