January transfers
Postecoglou has made some outstanding signings since arriving like Kyogo, Joe Hart, Jota and several others. And it looks like the Hoops could add more J-League players, following in the footsteps of Kyogo.
Incoming players will need to add to the depth of the squad and also possess the stamina and quality required to play in Postecoglou’s style of football.
Postecoglou has won over the supporters’ trust in terms of signings, with who were brought in over the summer.
Squad getting healthy
As Celtic approaches the winter break, it is now time for players to recuperate after a hard last few weeks. The injury list was getting out of control.
It’s looking like Christopher Julien will only play a small part this season as he works his way back from a long-term injury. But the Hoops must still look for more from players like James Forrest, who still hasn’t shown us what he is capable of this season.
Of course, there are several more out of action right now, dealing with their own injury problems. Hopefully, they will be back after the winter break.
Finding form
We have witnessed some great football from the Hoops this season. However, lately they haven’t been quite as great.
The likes of Liel Abada and Carl Starfelt aren’t shining as brightly as they did earlier in the campaign. And some final product from Mikey Johnston would be nice as well.
Injuries and fatigue appear to be catching up with the squad. Hopefully they can find their mojo back after the winter break.
Loan stars to sign permanent deals
Cameron Carter-Vickers has been a fantastic loan signing. A permanent deal for the Tottenham Hotspur loanee must be on the list for Postecoglou.
And another player that Celtic have to try to sign is Jota, the Portuguese winger on loan from Benfica. He has arguably been the club’s standout player this season, along with Kyogo, and one can only hope that he ends up remaining at the club beyond this season.
Let’s see what the future holds. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
